Celine Dion on syntynyt 30. maaliskuuta 1968 ja on kotoisin Québecistä, Kanadasta. Hän on noussut vaatimattomalta pohjalta yhdeksi kaikkien aikojen parhaimmin myydyimmistä naisartisteista yli 200 miljoonan levyn myynnillä ympäri maailman. Ensimmäinen levy häneltä ilmestyi jo vuonna 1987.
Hän piti kahden vuoden tauon esiintymisestä vuonna 1999, kun hänen miehellään todettiin kurkkusyöpä. Syövän toteamisen jälkeen hän päätti siis poistua julkisuudesta, jotta hän voi olla mahdollisemman paljon tukena hänen perheellensä.Paluun hän teki vuonna 2002 albumilla A New Day Has Come.
Celineä on kehuttu usein lyyrisyydestään ja ilmaisuvoimaisista laulunsanoistaan. Vuonna 2003 hän oli yhdeksäs MTV:n MTV's 22 Greatest Voices in Music listalla. Cove-lehden The 100 Outstanding Pop Vocalists listalla Dion oli neljäs, edellään vain Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey ja Michael Jackson.
