Project Summary
In our project 5 schools are going
to work together. All of the schools
are involved in environmental education
so we chose a topic based on nature and
the near surroundings of the school.
The project title is: Exploring and
interacting with our environment.
It is a three-year term school project
involving both teachers and pupils.
Each school will establish and ensure
the success to environmental education
by doing various activities. During
the first year the emphasis will be on
the history of the area and the roots
of the pupils. It is studied by interviewing
grandparents. The next year will concentrate
on the present. It is studied by doing
small experiments on water and recycling
in the families. On the third year the
stress is on the future. It is explored
by doing art works describing “ good”
and “bad” environments. The project itself
will encourage pupils to study about nature,
to get experiences in nature and act for
the nature with the help of the local
community and the school staff. The project
will be integrated into the curriculum.
