On May 26th we had in our school a Comenius Day. All pupils gathered together and we had a discussion about project year, achievements, and had small quiz. Children also watched the videos of games and got acquainted with all the sea books. Children liked a lot all the games which will certainly be a part of their everyday life.
The Comenius Day was very interesting and fun, pupils are fond of our project "Coast to Country to Culture".
26. mail 2009 oli Merivälja Koolis Comenius Day.

Thank you to our Finnish partners for this fabulous time we spent in your school and country!

Boys from 5th grade made during April and May Estonian national instrument jauram. There was enough work for several weeks, but it was worth of it- now we can use the new instrument in our music lessons to accompany Estonian national songs.

The logo competition in Merivälja School has successfully ended! We received altogether 87 logos, all different and interesting in their own way. Best logos were provided by older pupils, but the competition was enjoyed by children in all grades. Now we keep the fingers crossed for our winner Ra Martins’ logo in a competition for a common CCC logo.

As a first product of our project „Coast to Country to Culture“ all schools made a posters to present their countries. The posters worked out really informative and interesting each having different approach - children of Merivälja School love the posters so much, they can’t keep their fingers off. It’s clear – there is still a lot to discover about our partners.

The first meeting of the project „Coast to Country to Culture“ took place in Tallinn in the middle of November. We were pleased to have 10 guests from our partner schools and tried our best to make them feel welcome.
Pupils of Merivälja School waited eagerly for their new friends. As a greeting we had a short welcoming concert and as a first product, posters were waiting to be changed. After introducing to each other the participating schools, guests had an excursion in classrooms, visited the lessons and had a workshop to discuss the details of future tasks.
We want to offer our sincerest gratitude to all participants- it was our pleasure to host the first meeting!
