Brinja tuntui viihtyvän oikein hyvin. Päiväkodissa oli pieni lapsiryhmä ja Brinja sai tehdä kaikenlaisia päiväkodin arkeen liittyviä tehtäviä

Tabea teki normaaleja kaupan aputehtäviä: järjesteli tavaroita hyllyyn ja hinnoitteli. Tabea kertoi viihtyneensä oikein
hyvin. Välillä oli hieman tylsää, kun ei ollut niin paljon tekemistä, kuin hän olisi toivonut.

I did my practical training at the department store of Sokos in the centre of Kuopio.
I had to work in the smaller building of Sokos where customers can buy clothes for young people, CDs and especially sports clothes.
My working hours were from 9 till 15 o´clock.
Every day I had to tidy up the clothes lying around and I had to put them on hangers.
My colleagues were very friendly.
Although the work there was sometimes really boring that practical training was a great experience for me and I would do the same again.

Nils pääsi autonhuoltotehtäviin ja homma näytti sujuvan kaverilta kuin vanhalta tekijältä. Hän kertoikin, että hänellä on jo oma auto Saksassa, jota hän huoltaa ja korjaa, vaikka ikä ei vielä riitä ajamiseen. Rasvamontussa kaveri vaihtoi öljyjä autoihin ja teki rengastöitä huoltajien apuna.

Tore toivoi pääsevänsä puusepän töihin. Sijoitimme hänet ovitehtaalle. Tore oli aluksi aika pettynyt työpaikkaan, koska hän ei ollut odottanut kovaa ja aika yksitoikkoista vaihetyötä tehtaassa.
Tarjosimme hänelle mahdollisuutta vaihtaa työpaikkaa toisella viikolla, mutta kaveri päätti jäädä tehdashommiin. Hänen valvovan opettajansa mielestä Torelle saattoi olla hyväksi ja kasvattavaa, nähdä ja kokea duunarin arkea.

I did my practical training at Vest Wood in Kuopio. That is a wood factory where they produce doors. More than 1000 are built a day.
Nearly all workers there have to do the same kind of job each day. It never changes.
It was very boring to do that all the time.

Linus oli Kelloniemessä, huoltofirmassa, jossa
huolletaan asuntoautoja sekä myydään varaosia ja tarvikkeita niihin.
Firmassa Linus sai avustaa asentajaa, joka korjasi ja huolsi asuntoautoja.

Caravans are repaired there und get new equipment. Most workers don`t speak English or German. My job was to clean the workshop and on Thursdays there was a truck that brought bottles with gas for the caravans` kitchens or heatings. We had to carry the bottles into the basement. My working time was from 10 to 16 o`clock.Doing that training in Kuopio was a good experience and I enjoyed being there and meeting new people a lot. I`ve never been to Finnland before and I like that country.

Nuorisokeskus, Musiikkipaja |
Niklas pääsi Nuorisokeskukselle tutustumaan
musiikkipajan toimintaan ja osallistumaan erilaisiin projektitöihin toisten mukana. Kun me opettaja kävimme tapaamassa Niklasia, hän oli juuri järjestelemässä valoja ja esiintymispaikkaa kuntoon bändikilpailua varten.

I did my practical training at Nuorten Musikkiipaja and I liked it very much.
I had to clean and sort the different microphones and I had to put them on instruments. We even went to a concert and built up the stage. We fixed lamps and installed special machines to get special effects. Doing a practical trainig in Kuopio was a good experience for me. Doing that at Musikkiipaja was great because I am interested in music and it was good to speak English all the time.

Fabianille taisi sopia hyvin pienet kouluavustajan tehtävät. Poika oli ehkä hieman ujo ja hiljainen, mutta
pärjäili mukavasti suomalaisten vekaroiden joukossa.

During my practical training I worked at Pohjuntien Koulu. I had a very good time there. I helped in lessons as English, Music or German. The pupils and teachers were all very nice and it was helpful that a woman who was doing her practical training there and who was a student of German could support me. She helped to understand the children who weren`t able to speak English or German very well.
I really liked to go to that school because I noticed that the children had a lot of fun while working in lessons.
