Throughout the project, pupils will search about their own traditions, their history and mentality behind them by contacting with older people in their local area and they will share the collected information on the website prepared by pupils. They will record cooking and celebrations both in a written form and audio-visually. Pupils from each country will display their recordings in the website so that pupils from other countries can watch them. During the visits, pupils from different countries will cook the food of visited country together and, they will have opportunity for firsthand participation and observation of the celebrations. At the end of first year, a cookery book which includes food from each country will be written and published. In this book, every food and its preparation will be written in the language of all partners-translated by pupils.
With the help of especially chosen contents of different subjects, the pupils get aware of their own traditions and learn about cultural and traditional changes throughout generations.
They compare their own traditions with those of their partners. In this way they learn to respect their own cultural heritage and that of others within the community, which will help to avoid prejudices.
