Our location on the Kiiminki river bank offers many possibilities for our school to enhance environmental education, art and sports. In winter time we ski on the river, tobaggon on the river bank and sometimes we can go for a ride with the snow-scooter. We have even played football on the snowy ice. The beautiful scenery of the river gives us inspiration for art works. In spring it is very exciting to watch the annual breakup of the ice on the river bank.
The most famous of the Kiiminki river rapids is Koiteli, which is a pleasant area for a school trip by bike. The whole area consists of several islands connected with small bridges. The area is very suitable for hiking and investigating nature because of plentiful and multiple flora. Koiteli is the beautiful pearl of Kiiminki river. More information:
