Finland became independent from Russia on the 6th of December 1917, so this year we celebrated the 90th Independence Day of our country.
The sixth of December is always a very important day for us.
We have parades, many kinds of celebrations during the day.
The highlight of the day is the President's reception at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki where 2000 guests are invited every year.
At home we burn candles at the windows, usually two white and blue candles.
