Canadian roots I was born, raised and educated in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. I grew up on a small "hobby farm" in the Fraser Valley as the youngest child of five born to Rudolph and Mary Hiebert. After graduating from Chilliwack Senior Secondary School I spent two years at Trinity Western College in Langley, B.C., and two years at U.B.C. in Vancouver. I got my Bachelor of Arts degree with an English major in 1981.   I'm "Finnished"! I married a Finn and moved to Finland in the early 1980s. I have assimilated into the Finnish culture by learning the Finnish language (except for those endings in some cases :D), completing my Masters degree and therefore getting accreditation to teach English as a school subject in 1996, and by getting involved in my local parish and the teachers' union. I enjoy living in Kannus, where people are friendly, my colleagues are supportive and the surroundings are suitably peaceful.
