A LITTLE PRESENTATION ABOUT “IES LA DEHESILLA”
The IES LA DEHESILLA is a secondary school. It is situated in Cercedilla, a little village in the north-west of Madrid. Cercedilla is in the Sierra de Guadarrama, a place with mountains around 1000-2000 m over the sea.
In the school there are about 60 teachers and 575 students. The students come from Cercedilla, Navacerrada y Los Molinos. They are between 12 and 18 years old (but in professional studies the students can be older). The studies are obligatory for every student to 16 years old (it is the obligatory education), after this age the education is not obligatory and the students can study Bachillerato and to prepare to University or they can study CFGM: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio (Professional stadies). In our school, it is possible to study Bachillerato and CFGM: "Actividades físico-deportivas en el medio natural" (Sports and physic activities in the natural places)
In our school we pretend that the students could have a good academic preparation, but we think that it is very important too the preparation for the future, so we participate in some programs and projects about different topics, in special projects about the nature, the environment or scientific projects.
