The Germans in Finland 17.5.2012-23.5.2012
We had been waiting for that day for months. We had planned everything, the beds were bedded for them and the best party clothes were adduced. Finally the day came and the karaokebus of our guests curved to the school yard. We were nervous about recognizing our own German exchange partners who we already knew. Despite the excitement of the first encounters, everything went nicely. All of us continued the evening to learn to know each other better.
On Friday morning the alarm clock woke us up at 7 am and despite the travel fatigue we had to leave for school. The Germans’ day started with an ordinary English lesson and we Finns went to our own lessons. Our studying didn’t go well, because we just thought about the house party in the evening! Finally the evening came and we met each other at Niina’s place. During the evening we went to sauna, ate and just chilled. Sorry about the party rocking! ;)
The weekend went shopping and hanging out together. We also spent time with the host families. The highlight of the evening was Champions Leagues final Bayern München against Chelsea! Our German guests were struck by depression because Bayern München was beaten, but it didn’t slow down us for a long time.
Monday was a normal school day for the Finns, but the Germans were able to enjoy a comprehensive City Tour by Leena, a professional guide besides her teaching career.. After the school day we went to the restaurant Rosso for lunch together. For the rest of the day we spent time together at LakeTuomiojärvi. A few Finnish girls and German boys had enough courage to go swimming. The evening went quickly and in a very joyful way.
Tuesday morning came and that was the last day together. The days were went absolutely too quickly. In the daytime we visited the museum where the Germans saw a huge unforeseen elk. We spent our last evening outdoors. We went to the sauna, had a good salad and played football together.
Then came Wednesday and it was the time goodbyes. The feeling was very sad and we shed a few tears. The days which we could spend together were memorable. We wouldn’t change any moment. We miss our visitors a lot, but hopefully we will see in October again. We want to thank our teachers Leena, Pirkko and Rene because this wouldn’t have been possible without them.
One of our favourite songs is still playing in our heads: “ We are the Germans and not from Spain. We are the guys with …!” We all miss U ! <3

Sepän lukion poikien salibandyjoukkue nappasi jatkopaikan paikallis- ja lähialuevastustajien kesken pelatussa 1. kierroksen turnauksessa Monnarilla to 12.1!
Maalissa torjui ansiokkaasti Jani Tuppurainen.
Jatkoon 2. kierrokselle siis Laukaa ja Seppä. Vastus kovenee ja pelit paranevat...
