About Finnish sportsmen...

Finnish sportsmen

There are many finnish sportsmen who have succeeded in becoming well-known in the world.
For example, who doesn't know Mika Häkkinen? For those who don't know, here's a brief commentary: Mika Häkkinen is an ex-formula 1 driver. He has won world championship two times with McLaren, 1998 and 1999. Mika Häkkinen has left formulas but there is other finnish driver in team McLaren nowdays. He is Kimi Räikkönen and my personal comment is that he's going to win the championship next year...

Finnish drivers have become world class in Rally, too. In WRC (World Rally championship) there is many good finnish drivers, for example ex-driver Tommi Mäkinen, he won championship 4 yerars in a row (1996-1999) and Marcus Grönholm (championship in years 2000 and 2002)

I think that finnish drivers are elite class in all kinds of motor sports... =)

But not only in motor sports have finnish people became good. Kalle Palander is good in slalom (FIS slalom world cup 1st in year 2003...). Jani Sievinen (swimmer) has also succeeded very well in international swimming contests.

Lots of finnish ice hockey players have gone into NHL, too. Most well known players are Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne. Finland has many good football players, too. For example Jari Litmanen in Ajax...

Here was only small scratch of all finnish sportsmen/-women, but you have to believe, that Finland has some excellent sportsmen!
