They start learning english in Finland at 9 years old.

It is compulsory.

The english lessons are splitting into courses: the finnish have four different time table in a year.
4/ How many lessons are there in a week?
There are three hours of english in the week.
5/ What parts do the lessons cover(grammar, literature, vocabulary, civilization...)?
They learn grammar, vocabulary and they speak a lot to know well how to say the words.They do a lot of games to learn and sometimes go on the computer.
6/ What are the english books like?(what themes, exercices)-Have they got beautiful pictures and workbooks?
We don´t find ourself well in their books.They talk about a lot of different themes, but a lot of sport.They have a lot of text and stories, but they are less attractive than our english books, because they are not so colourfull and soliving.
7/ How the learning/teaching proceeds?
They speak a lot during the lessons and they write at home with some exercices. They are about ten pupils (very few!)and it's very calm . The teacher ask some questions and the children have to answer if they know.
